DJ Yossi // All that matters to me is peace, love, and (house) music
You Know Me // Didn't we meet at that one party...?
At four years old, You Know Me productions was relatively new to the Denver scene, but popularity and support skyrocketed since its inception with founder/owner J. Yossi Goodman. The director of the Iris Kids Dance Troupe, Yossi has worked for promotion teams such as Pureform Atmospheres, Roofless Family, RDN, and Clear Channel Concerts, as a stage dancer at Red Rocks, Colorado Springs City Auditorium, and every major dance venue in Denver since 1997. Yossi developed an understanding of behind-the-scenes operations and created his own company, You Know Me (Didn't we meet at that one party...?), in April of 2001; he promoted and produced a series of outlaw-warehouse parties throughout Denver and Boulder. Promoting led Yossi into DJing and, almost immediately, he formed a distinctive style based on adjectives: warm, sexy, peaceful, funky. Over the last four years, his signature sound has made him a favorite for sunrise sets and earned him in weekly residencies in The Red Room, Voodoo Lounge, Orchid Lounge, Champagne Room, Mynt True Lounge, and Blue 67. Yossi has made dance floors bubble for DJs like Ty Tek, Wyatt Earp, D:Fuse, and Mark Farina.
You Know Me organized into a legal business entity when Yossi founded the DJ Academy in March of 2002. Boasting 6 distinct levels of music production and DJ education, a recording studio, and 15 of Colorado's most talented industry professionals, the DJ Academy, in Lakewood, received praise from local and international news periodicals such as Go-Go magazine, Image Magazine, The Denver Post, and the Wall Street Journal. You Know Me's corporate clients included Red Bull Energy Drink, American Crew, Shure Needlz, Oakley Sunglass, and Clear Channel Concerts.
Yossi's first release, Anniversary, has earned him bookings in Wyoming, Nevada, California, throughout Colorado, and Sydney, Australia. While moving his sound deeper into Nu-Jazz, DownTempo, and TripHop on his latest CD release, Can We Make Out, Yet?, Yossi maintains his ability to rock crowds with his annual 12+ hour sets at the Burning Man Arts Festival in Black Rock City, Nevada. Look for big things from You Know Me as DJ Yossi helps put Denver on the map.
You Know Me Statement of Mission
We want to increase the amount of integrity in the dance music industry. We want to increase the amount of art in the event's production. We want to increase the amount of soul in the music.
We maintain that, above all, our primary interest is to demonstrate how wonderful music is. It is important, when musicians decide that a hobby should become a career, that we give them an understanding of what it takes to be an effective professional in the music business.
We believe that music is a tool of communication, emotion, and action. For us DJs, it is a method of employment. At You Know Me LLC, we recognize the power of music, the influence of fame, and the precarious relationship between art and business in their respective aims. As such, it is our opinion that DJs and electronic musicians are vulnerable to a variety of pursuits in the industry namely, businesspeople are concerned with profit, rock stars are fascinated with ego, and artists are content with art. The DJ Academy thus strives to instruct students on issues ranging from business strategy to lifestyle philosophy to music theory.
Whereas our promise to staff and affiliates lies in our efforts to develop an accessible network of artistic, ambitious, music-minded professionals in our national music community, our collective goal is to provide students with an education in music and prepare musicians for business in this art.

"I don't know how some people get through their day without releasing themselves to loud, soul-expanding music. Hand clapping, hip swinging, chest pounding, lung trembling music that feels like LOVE. The truth is, all that matters to me is peace, love, and house music."
